Gentle Giant, Ltd. makes licensed collectibles based on some of the world's most recognizable entertainment properties. Following Diamond Select Toys' acquisition of the company in 2019, Infernal Machinery was retained to evaluate the legacy e-commerce platforms. What began as an assessment evolved into a long-term operational engagement spanning user experience, creative direction, platform planning, communication systems, merchandising support, and ongoing digital commerce consulting.

Good Stories Stay With Us
Every collector remembers the first character that mattered and how they met. A Saturday morning cartoon. A dog-eared comic. A film they still quote. Time passes but the connection doesn't.
A collectible doesn't create that feeling. It gives it a place to live. Memory becomes something you can hold in your hands.

Affinity Becomes Fandom
First In Line
Premier Guild wasn't just another membership. It was how Star Wars™ collectors got first crack at Gentle Giant, Ltd.'s most exclusive releases. A Mos Eisley™ Cantina band member. A deep-cut Sith™ Lord. A Luke Skywalker™ piece no one outside the Guild could get on release.
For the fans who signed up year after year, the membership itself wasn't the prize. It was what the membership made possible. Another chance to bring home a small piece of a galaxy they'd been visiting for decades.
Collecting had grown beyond finding something cool on a store shelf. It had become a deeper way to stay connected to a story that never really ended.

Fandom Becomes Trust
No Pressure
Collectibles don't arrive overnight. Months can pass between placing a pre-order and opening the box. For Star Wars collectors chasing a Premier Guild Exclusive from Gentle Giant, Ltd., waiting was part of the hobby.
A pre-order wasn't just another transaction. It was a promise. Collectors committed months before they could hold the finished piece in their hands. Keeping that promise became an operational responsibility.

Operational Stewardship
While We Were At It
Operational decisions had to support that obligation. Product photography and audience segmentation. Platform decisions and vendor recommendations. Every email. Every content calendar. Every exclusive announcement.
None of those responsibilities existed in isolation. Each one honored the same commitment. Over time, the engagement expanded beyond the storefront itself. Individual improvements stopped feeling like separate projects and became part of the same operational system.

"There is a level of execution that's expected from our licensors and fans when we work with the movie studios and that scrutiny becomes more focused with Star Wars and other big IPs. The product has to live up to the expectation and so does the e-commerce experience. The planning, build, development, maintenance and evolution of the Gentle Giant, Ltd. site and promotional programs would not have been possible without Infernal's insight and proficiency. What initially appeared to be daunting and almost impossible became simple and obvious for us - and that's due to Infernal's direction and capabilities."

Ready To Wear
The business had changed. Eventually, the storefront had to admit it.
The redesign wasn't about looking different. It was about looking like Gentle Giant, Ltd. had already become.
